Air Filter Change

I normally change my filter for my Central Air Conditioning unit every two months during heavy use even though the filter is suppose to be efficient until 90
days. This might be a foolish question, but there are arrows on the filter for air direction flow.

I am confused as to which direction to place filter. Should it be towards the unit or away (meaning flowing to ducts)??

Air flow I am assumming is indicating air flow away from unit.

Thanks,
