I would say the quality of the parts is part of the issue, but perhaps you have another problem that's burning them out?

A lot of replacement parts which were once coming from US suppliers (say Robertshaw, Honeywell, etc) go overseas and to Mexico after a length of time. The choice from the manufacturer is either what they have to offer or to drop the part.

Adding to the issue (and Jeff could correct me if I'm wrong) is that the aftermarkets of the appliance industry (aka Gemline who typically sold USA made stuff, sometimes OEM reboxes at better prices) have all but disappeared.

My grandfather has a 1985 Caloric and I have never changed the igniters, I can't recall if he ever had it done. I do know since day one the back burners never worked--until I adjusted things and now it works like a charm.
