I own a circa 1980 Hardwick gas range. Two of the surface burner control valves are not working.
First they became harder and harder to operate now they won't turn on at all.
The valves are firmly screwed into the manifold from above. There's a faceplate on the front of the valve holding the control stem. Can I open the valve up to clean or service it or would the entire valve need to be replaced?
I have been advised that the parts for this old stove are not available. What other options are there besides a new stove?
