I have a GE Electric Dryer Model# DWSR405EB1WW. Recently it began taking a long time to dry clothes. I have confirmed that there is no blockage anywhere in the vent tube from the dryer to where it vents outside. I decided to replace the heater coils and I did so this weekend, but it didn't solve the problem completely. I put a temperature gauge in the dryer and let it run for a while, the temp. reading never got above 150 degrees fahrenheit. Looking over a expanded diagram of the dryer it appears I have three thermostats on the heater shroud that holds the elements, I have listed them below but have no idea what each does.
Part# Description
WE4M160 THERMOSTAT SAFETY LEFT
WE4M0181 THERMOSTAT CTR INLET
WE4M137 THERMOSTAT HI-LIMIT
Also I have one additional thermostat attached to the blower assembly listed here
Part# Description
WE4M216 THERMOSTAT BIAS DRUM OUT
I'm assuming one of the thermostats is restricting or retarding the brand new coils from reaching max temp. but if someone thinks it could be something else I'm open to all suggestions and help.
