Door appear on LCD during bake

The model # is for a GE range, GRCR3825ZWW-1. It will most likely come up as Cdn model. When the oven is turned On, after a few minutes regardless of the initial temperature setting, the LCD displays "DOOR" and the oven then turns OFF. An estimate was provide by a technician to replace the main display control module at a cost of $350. An suggestions would be appreciated.

By the way, is the door latch assembly easy to remove to inspect the latch as well as the wire harness that connects to it from the control module? At minimum I think I would check for continuity and any loose connections. Another tip I read was to open the oven door and manually push on the latch and turn the oven On that way and determine whether the "DOOR" message appears. Thanks!

Yes. Power off. Back panal comes off, lock is normally under the cooktop....all are accessible. jeff.

It ended up being the door latch ... it was stuck. Opened the oven door, pressed on the door latch as far as it would go in. The message "DOOR", never reappeared after that. The oven works fine.. I guess the door latch was stuck. I can't understand why the technician diagnosed it as a faulty control module. Maybe he was inexperienced or just over looked the door latch assembly and assumed it was the control module. I guess it happens from time to time. Regardless, many thanks to you. Sincerely, Gus
