GE model GSS20IEP WW... Is running continually but not cooling or freezing. There is frost on the back wall of the freezer... Is this a defrost heater
element problem??? Seams somehow familiar (too many years, too many refrigerators)... If you think so, how do I get to it, test it and replace it???

GSS20IEPWWI found: GSS20IEPAWW GSS20IEPCWW GSS20IEPDWW GSS20IEPHWW GSS20IEPJWW GSS20IEPLWW Is running continually but not cooling or freezing. There is frost on the back wall of the freezer... Is this a defrost heater element problem???Defrost heater, defrost thermostat, defrost thermistor, mother board or combinations are possible trouble makers. If you think so, how do I get to it, test it and replace it???Usually best to check the defrost heater and thermostat first, both should have continuity ( defrost thermostat when cold )...freezer has removeable false back wall to access ( #214 )

Forgot...an over night defrosting with the doors open will get you working again so you have time to diagnose the problem.

It's GSS20IEPJWW... Just finished the overnight defrost, Planned to try that this AM... It's on now... Checking... Seems to be working... Down 6
degrees in 15 minutes... I'll be back... Tom
