I have a Whirlpool side by side- Model # GSNBEXRO01. It is about 2 years old. I was tardy in replacing the water filter, when due for a change. The change
light was red for about 4 weeks. Then I changed the filter, and afterwards we had a power outage due to weather. From then on, my ice maker stopped working. I
replaced the entire Ice Maker with Genuine Parts- circuit board and motor. We get water through the dispenser, but none to the icemaker. The ice tray does not
fill up with water, and it seems as though no water is coming out of the black tube. There is no ice frozen in the tube, as I checked that. Any clue?

Hi,
What does the icemaker do? Sit there dead, go through the motions but no water, stuck 1/2 way through a harvest? Tried manually adding some water to the icemaker to see what happens? |

There was water in the unit, before I replaced the icemaker. I defrosted with a dryer, but it just froze up and nothing happened- no harvesting or anything.
Then I replaced the unit, and no water comes out of the black water tube.
Someone told me to disconnect the water tube from the wall valve, and if water runs out, then the solenoid is bad? I have yet to try this. If water does not run out, what is next? The whole in freezer unit is brand new. |

Figured out the problem, after attending a local neighborhood 4th of July party. Other neighbors had the same issue in early June, right after the power went
out in the neighborhood, as I mentioned above. When the power came on, it surged and blew out the emitter or sensor boards. So, I bought a new set of boards,
and low and behold, I HAVE ICE!!!!!
