GE Potscrubber 1000 always draining

Posts: 3 Aug 31 09 6:51 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	Tags : None I have a problem with my GE Potscrubber 1000. No matter what, it is always draining the water. I plugged up the drain pipe and it filled fine, the spray arm tries to start moving and spraying water, but then it stops. If I open the drain pipe, it is pumping the waste water out fine. I'm thinking either the drain solenoid is stuck open or the control head is always commanding it open - I havent looked into it yet, but I can not remove the washer from the counter, so I am not sure that I will be able to access what I need to. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

No matter what, it is always draining the water Stuck drain solenoid, broken/missing spring on the drain solenoid, flapper swelled inside the pump assy and the water pressure is pushing open the drain, drain hose goes straight through the floor and water is syphoning out are -some- common trouble makers. jeff Appliance Repair Aid - your online appliance repair shop JRAppliance

If I crimp the drain hose, water sprays through the hole in the back and also begins to come through the spray arm (but never fulls spins/extends the arm) I'm going to disassemble the bottom today and check the solenoid. I believe this is shot no matter what.

A copy: The piston and nut assembly has an integral check valve, shaped like an umbrella, which closes the collection chamber inlet during pump out. If the check valve is damaged, held open by debris or assembled upside down, water will circulate inside the tub instead of going down the drain. Cleaning a clogged valve or replacing a defective one will solve the problem. I'm going to disassemble the bottom today and check the solenoid Good! Spring holds the drain flap closed and when the d/w wants to drian the solenoid is powered to open the drain flap to allow the water to exit the pump assy. jeff.
