I have a Hoover Steamvac model# F7458-900. We were using it the other day and everything was fine, until the water in the clean water tank started draining
out of the spray head, even while the machine was off and unplugged. After checking and reseating everything I could and the water continued to drain out, I
finally started taking it apart. What I believe I found as the cause is the Gravity Valve stuck in the open position. With the valve completely out of the
system, I can blow through either end of it.
What I would like to make sure of before I order a new one, is that if the valve were working correctly, I should not be able to blow through it. It would seem to me that the only time the valve should be open and allowing anything through it is when the machine is on and the lever on the handle is pulled to click the microswitch to activate (open) the valve. The part number for the gravity valve is 25686057.
Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
