For the keen observers of detail you will have noticed yet another name change for the board. No, we aren't having an identity crisis, its just part of the ongoing progression toward a board we can call our own. After a flurry of emails one morning before Thanksgiving my thoughts were completely turned upside down, inside out by all of the input regarding the board name, search engines, hosting, servers and .com da dee da. A change from Mike Merritt Motors was needed because the board grew into something well beyond the scope of Joe, myself and our friends helping each other with auto, painting and small engine problems. The forum list has grown and with each new topic you can bet there is a top of the line person behind it as moderator. The latest addition will be Computers and I am very proud to announce that Big Mike will be moderating. A stronger computer person you will never find as far as I'm concerned. Once his forum is set up drop in and make him feel at home and bring your computer problems with you.
TheFixItForum.com is officially our domain and will be coming to a host on the www soon. How soon I don't know yet. That will depend on how fast some of you can help me get up to speed on running our own site. I want to step slowly into a host so that once there we don't have to move again. I have a friend who is in the beginning stages of running his website from his home as his own server. Trust I will be following his progress with eyes and ears wide open. At the same time I will have to assemble a website and right now I can't think of a subject I know less about. We will keep the EZ Board running up to and beyond the start of TheFixItForum so we can make the move gently without losing traffic. Once the move is made we should turn up in searches at the major search engines. It would be nice to simply link to EZ Board from TheFixItForum.com home page but the content within EZ does not turn up in major search engine results.
Lets continue to build this idea into what the others are not and what we want this site to be. Computers was at the very top of my list as a needed topic and now that is a reality. Next is Plumbing and Electrical. If anyone knows a true pro in either topic that would like to moderate a forum please have them contact me or Joe.
The Lounge or Computers would be a great place to post any input on these matters.
