A friend of mine is a plumber/HVAC man for the city. In 2001, we did some faucets in our bathroom upstairs, which actually rotted out after 35 years. LOL. (just got old).

My friend came with his Dewalt rebuilt (Yes, through Harbor Freight) cordless kit and under my counter he went. He is 6'4" like yourself (I'm a shorty, only 5'9", lol) and the cordless sawzall ate through the brass like butter. Said it's the best tool set he's bought. We were done with the job in less than 2 hours .

At that time, I think he paid $200 for the whole set and he had a full warranty on the set. They were all rebuilts. I haven't run into him in a while, but I'll bet he's still using this set. This is a guy that's wrecked at least 6 cars since I've know him, dumped a motorcycle three times and he works with pipes and metal things all day. He is as strong as an ox, so whatever he buys has to hold up to him. LOL.

Yes, Sears cordless product (973 prefix) are imported Ryobis, so you can look for a sale at Sears for a similar kit and get the same thing.

I have a 973 Sears cordless with a work light, charger and two batteries. It was $80 on sale, I think my mother had some coupons that day and I had a Craftsman club mailer. I want to say I walked out paying $50 for the set. It's 18.0 volts. Works great.

I mostly use corded tools, but like the rest of us, when you're up on a ladder trying to hang something in the garage or on your back working with something, these things can be a lifesaver.
