ge ice maker won't fill |

Hi I have a ge icemaker that won't fill. I replaced the water valve. If i fill the tray manually with water it will make ice and dispense it but won't fill. The water line is not iced up. The water in the door works fine. Randomlly the ejector will rotate three times them then stop and the green light will blink. I turn it off and on and i get a little water spitting out but not enough to fill. ge side by side gss22wgmbb. I do not have a volt tester. Any ideas? Thanks Tony

I believe my paddle is worn out. Does the sensing arm move in and out during a harvest cycle riding on a cam. My paddle does not and I think my hall sensor is misaligned because of this. Now I have a hang up in the harvest cycle. If i power off and on I'm good till the next harvest cycle. I would like to get away withour replacing the whole unit. Thanks T

I just fixed this exact problem on my GE icemaker. No ice was being made, but the fill line was not blocked and everything else seemed ok. The key symptom
for me was the paddle sensing arm -- it seemed very 'limp', that is it did not stay in the 'out' position as it should. As I understand it,
there is a spring on the arm which should keep it in the 'out' position until the ice bin fills up and the ice cubes push the arm to the 'in'
position, thereby shutting off ice production. I found that the spring on my paddle arm had come out of position and was no longer forcing the arm to the
'out' position. With the arm stuck in the 'in' position, the machine thought the ice bin was full and never started the cycle to make new ice.
I simply re-adjusted the spring to give proper tension to the paddle arm, and ice production started up just fine.
So the short answer is: Check the spring on your paddle arm to be sure it pushes the paddle arm to the 'out' position when the ice bin is not full. Hope that helps! |
