Power is fine - plug in and the display lights up everything - 8.8. on the screen. The light inside works - door switch works. Power is fine from cord into unit. Nothing happens when you push any buttons - wont start or anything. Display is stuck with the 8.8. lit up. Please help - any suggestions??

Maybe can "shock" it by pulling out and plugging in the cord cord a few times quickly. Spoke to Maytag and several reapir people but they say the code doesn't exist. Only time that this has happened is in houses where it is indoors but exposed to extreme temperatures.

Posts: 4 Nov 21 06 3:19 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My vent attaches to the dryer per fexi pipe then runs to a large pvc pipe then outside through a slotted vent. Both houses this happened in the dryer is in a room that is enclosed but not heated or cooled. 60 degrees or below the error appears and it won't run but as the temp increases during the day above 60 it works with no problems.

Thankx for the update, that will help others! Had an electric range once showing odd #'s on the clock/control display...cold air was traveling in through the vent hood above. We blocked the vent hood and the range worked ok. jeff.

Test 1. places heating pad under sensor in front bottom. Results no difference. Test 2. Placed heating pad next to control panel on top. Results = dryer turned on and worked every time.

THE SERVICE GUY HAD NO IDEA SO HE CALLED THE MAYTAG COMPANY AND THEY SAID IT MEANT LOW VOLTAGE. I HAD AN ELECTRICIAN COME AND HE SAID IT HAD PLENTY OF VOLTAGE. A YEAR AGO WHEN THE CODE CAME UP AFTER ABOUT TEN MINUTES IT WOULD WORK. BUT JUST A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO IT WOULDNT RESET ITSELF AND WOULDNT WORK AT ALL. I WAS GOING TO CALL A SERVICE MAN MONDAY MORNING BUT I DECIDED TO LOOK ON THE INTERNET AND SEE IF I COULD FIGURE IT OUT MYSELF. SO THANK YOU FOR THE TIP ON THE HEATING PAD. I WARMED UP THE CONTROL PANEL AND IT STARTED RIGHT UP. I'M WONDERING HAS ANYONE CONTACTED MAYTAG ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND IF SO WHAT DID THEY SAY. THANKS AGAIN, ANGIE

She called Sears and they said it would cost a total of $450.50 to replace 2 boards, labor included. After using the heating pad trick,(placing the heating pad on high,drapped over the contol panel for for 20 minutes) IT WORKED! Also found that the vent flapper was stuck open. replaced the outdoor vent flapper and everything works GREAT! My sister in-law now thinks the Village idiot is Albert Einstein. Except my dryer showes 50 it wont come on the pad test is fine, we changed the control bored and the dryer worked for 12 hours. The dryer beeps A LOT! They have to mean something, they are never the same. I can hold the +/damp dry/on pause and it will come on and dry for those 50 minutes, then same thing. We have has this for 12 days, can't get any help from the used appliance place since it didn't work when they delivered it. We are so lost and help is greatly appreciated.
